About Brewery
Goto Sake Brewery has been brewing sake for 340 years since the Edo period. Only the history of Kurogi-cho remains in the literature, and it seems that it was originally a sake brewery in Kurume. Then history will be even older. Anyway, it is one of the best long-established sake breweries not only in Fukuoka but also in Kyushu.
“Our sake is delicious when paired with meat dishes.” It was the moment when the toji, who had been busily moving around since the preparation of the sake had begun, finally relaxed his cheeks.
According to other sake brewers, Mr. Goto is the number one sake brewery in Fukuoka. No matter how many times he drinks it, he never gets tired of drinking it.
About Fukuoka
Fukuoka, located on the northern coast of Kyushu, Japan's southernmost main island, boasts a diverse geography. It features a coastal area along the Genkai Sea, crossed by several rivers like the Naka River. The terrain ranges from flat coastal regions to hilly and mountainous landscapes inland, with the picturesque Itoshima Peninsula to the west.
Fukuoka experiences a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters, along with the occasional typhoon. The fertile plains around the city support agriculture, including rice and fruit production.
