This July, agataJapan proudly presents Aoki Shuzou Week, a special opportunity for sake professionals and enthusiasts to discover one of Japan’s most historic breweries from the snowy region of Uonuma, Niigata.
Founded over 300 years ago, Aoki Shuzou is renowned for crafting sake that embodies the spirit of Niigata through its signature tanrei umakuchi style — elegant, clean, yet rich in character.
Aoki Shuzou – B2B Professional Tasting
To begin the week, agataJapan is pleased to invite trade partners and F&B professionals to an exclusive B2B Professional Tasting with a representative from Aoki Shuzou.
The tasting will focus on two of the brewery’s signature labels:
- Kakurei Junmai Ginjo
- Yukiotoko Junmaishu
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Meet and engage directly with a representative from Aoki Shuzou, Niigata
- Discover the brewery’s heritage, philosophy, and sake-making craftsmanship
- Explore the unique characteristics of two distinguished sake expressions from the snowy region of Japan

Aoki Shuzou Week at YUKI
From 04 – 10 July 2026, agataJapan brings the spirit of Japanese sake to YUKI, introducing guests to the world of Aoki Shuzou through a week-long showcase of its celebrated sake collection.
Throughout the week, visitors can discover the distinctive tanrei umakuchi style of Niigata through:
- Kakurei Junmai Ginjo
- Yukiotoko Junmaishu
Special Event: Meet the Brewer
A highlight of the week will be the opportunity to meet and speak directly with a representative from Aoki Shuzou.
Guests will hear the stories behind the brewery, gain deeper insight into the sake-making traditions of Niigata, and learn about the philosophy that has guided Aoki Shuzou for more than three centuries.
