What is "Shio Kombu"?
"Kombu" is a popular seaweed in Japan because of its high amount of nutritions, minerals and low calories, while "Shio" means salt in Japanese. So "Shio kombu" means salty seaweed or salty kelp. The kelp is boiled in soya water with many other ingredients before drying and strip cutting.
